Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT PRODUCT This product is definitely worth the money... the added space for taking a shower in our cramped RV shower is wonderful... I wish that we had found this product when we first purchased our RV, then, we would have had more comfortable showers from the beginning. Even tho our shower was 3 inches smaller than the thirty-five inch size for the smallest opening that it was suitable for, I easily modified the rod buy cutting five inches off of the center rod, re-drilling one hole and re-assembling the unit. It then worked perfectly in our RV.... If you have a cramped shower in your RV, I highly recommend this product!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extend-A-Shower Expanding Shower Rod LOVE IT! It was exactly the size I needed, so no adjusting. It took 2 minutes to change it out, (including finding my screw driver). My husband was surprised and very pleased, as was I, with all the room that it gave us in the tub. It seemed roomier than the glass enclosed showers that we thought we just had to have when we were shopping for an RV. AND...I couldn't beat the price anywhere! I looked at over a dozen websites and Camping World had the best price. It arrived within 5 days. Like I said...LOVE IT and LOVE Camping World! The fact that it folds back in to the shower is really great also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty much as advertised The rod works just as advertised and it really does make more room in our travel trailer's shower. However, I expected a very simple straightforward installation, based on the pictures, but it was a bit more difficult. As it came from the factory, I could not get both mounting brackets to be vertical on the wall; one of the brackets was twisted out of plumb. Finally removed one of the screws attaching the rod to the bracket to let the rod rotate on the bracket. Then I attached the bracket to the wall and inserted a self-tapping screw in place of the original-machine thread screw and it was perfect - square and plumb. The rod works great. I Recommend plastic shower curtain rings on the white rod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extend-A-Shower Rocks As advertised, this rod makes a world of difference in extra elbow room if your space is small like my 32 in. shower. It is made for 35-42 in. but can be trimmed to fit smaller showers. Though the instructions on the package were useless, I just cut 3 in. off the middle bar with a hacksaw and hoped for the best. Well, sure enough, that did it and it mounted in a flash. I strongly recommend using the plate against the wall for added support but mine worked okay with wall anchors. When collapsed, it takes the whole curtain away from the edge where you pass by. I haven't hung a lot of things off it to dry yet, but depending on how you anchored it to the wall, will determine how well it holds up. So far, it was worth the investment and is a nice luxury for showering in a VERY small shower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have for any camper shower! This is a must have for any camper shower! It gives you the extra room you need so you don't feel so cramped. It's super easy to install and looks great. A bonus idea is when it is folded inward for the 'stored position' it makes a great place to hang wet bathing suits, towels etc so they can drip dry right into the tub! We bought a shower curtain that had lots of mesh storage pockets (you see them alot around back to school time) and that's yet another great space saving tip!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thing is great Well like everyone else on here has stated, this thing is great. I installed it in about 5 minutes with a cordless drill and used it this weekend for the first time. I was worried about my cabinet being in the way of its function, but it works well even if you have a cabinet close to the shower. It actually helps in the fact that when the rod is in the unused position you can open your cabinet door another foot or so more. I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best for a travel trailer bathroom Our camper came with the pleated shower door. It was awful making shaving your legs impossible. This is a wonderful addition. We removed the pleated door and its frame, and had this installed in about 20 minutes. It also allowed me to pick a standard shower curtain making my bathroom more attractive. The way it swings in while not in use is so wonderful! Also, don't worry if you have a cabinet next to the shower. It has no bearing on that. Do it! You won't be sorry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install and is awesome I bought this because I hate having the shower curtain rub on my arms when washing my hair, etc. I delayed installing it for about a month. I finally decided to "tackle" the job. It was so easy. I don't know why I waited. It took me about 20 minutes. I only had to drill one hole on each bracket because I used the existing hole on the top from the old shower rod. Once I drilled the second holes, it went together very quickly. I am pretty short so I could not get the center rod screwed in from the top. No problem, I just put the screws in from the bottom. Works beautifully. I'm amazed at the room it adds. I also love that the bathing suits can now drip into the tub and not down the side and on the floor. I am a woman, but I do know how to use a drill. SIMPLE. Can't believe I delayed. Paralysis from Analysis. Just do it.

Is it adaptable?

Could this shower rod be installed on the inside of a rounded, or corner glass shower enclosure in my small motor home? Why? Because our shower stall is not in the bathroom. Being glass, there is no privacy when taking children or other adults with us.There is wall space above the glass enclosure to fasten it. I think I would need the dimension of the bar. There is no room for anything on the outside of the stall. We have a glass door that opens out. After stepping in, you could slide the curtain around you.

This shower rod just may work with your stall. There are two primary factors with the use of the 'Extend-A-Shower', opening size of 35"-42" or 54" to 60"(can be purchased from Stromberg Carlson) for the geometry to work properly, and at least somewhat opposing walls for mounting. Here is a blog post where the 'Extend-A-Shower' was installed in a non-traditional shower stall.

How does bottom of shower fit in bottom base?

Asked by: Cliff
If referring to the shower curtain when the rod is expanded. A long curtain will have to be used so the curtain can stay within the shower pan/tub. Either having factory sewn weights or adding weights to the bottom hem of the curtain is helpful in keeping the curtain in place.

Will it work if there is a small cabinet right next to the shower?

There's no way to avoid this cabinet. Is it possible for the flexible part to flex out only part-way way on that one end and just stop where it meets the cabinet??
Asked by: Donna
The product can be used as you described (partly extended), but will obviously not get the same benefit compared to being fully extended.
