Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helping Hand This handle has been a blessing for my wife who struggles with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Makes getting up and down a lot easier.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful railing We have one of the new RV stair components that come out further than the old style. I have trouble getting in and out, and with the normal hand rail I found that I would be near the bottom of the steps and run out of railing that I could reach. This rail saved the day and I LOVE it. The only problem is that the cushioning has torn off and I'm having trouble finding where I can replace it. Really need that foam padding, as if the railing is in the sun it does get hot. But I highly recommend this railing for anyone who is impaired.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from NOT as good as advertised. This item did not fit the original handle screw holes as advertised. I had to re-drill two of them to secure it. In addition, the springs that hold the movable handle in place or out of the way for travel, are undersized and loose. Again, not as advertised or like the original. I would NOT recommend this item until or unless at least, the spring holding the handle in place is replaced with a much stronger one as the original handle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extended Lend-a-Hand Rail Fits perfectly on existing hand rail mounting holes. A must for safely entering and exiting trailer safely. I would imagine this hand rail will be standard equipment on new models in coming years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great handrail This was a perfect handrail because of height and length of the handrail because my wife is short and as medical problems so the handrail made it easy for her to get into the camper easier

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very high quality folding door handle support. Nice handle but additional holes needed to install. Make sure you have the proper wall support near the door frame to prevent needless drilled holes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good fit with Lippert SolidSteps. The Lippert SolidSteps extend further than the factory steps so this handrail is an excellent match. It is more convenient than Lippert’s optional handrail since this handrail simply folds out of the way; Lippert’s optional handrail has to be detached, stored, then reinstalled when you knock down, move, and setup. This rail exactly matched the factory attachment points on our Open Range 2410 trailer so it was a very simple install.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extend lend-a-hand rail good points & challenges I Love this Hand rail. It is sturdy and very helpful when I have one full hand to climb my RV steps. You should know, however, that you May need to drill a couple of additional holes into the RV. It looked like it would fit the existing holes well, but it needed some extra drilled. No problem though and it is now stable and makes me a happy camper!

can this just be mounted on a coachman legacy (2021) with the same bolt holes

Asked by: norm
We are not able to verify fit based on the RV year/make/model. On the mounting brackets, there are two mount holes aligned vertically. Center to center of these mount holes on the brackets is 1-1/8". From the center of the top mount hole(top bracket) to the center of the top mount hole(bottom bracket) is 23.75". You can measure the mount hole distance on your current handle to determine if this unit will mount to the same holes.

I have the same question as Bear - how does this handrail stow for travel?

Asked by: Singscience
It folds in, just as the original handle does, and doesn't drop below the camper, so no worries of it hanging down too low. The only problem I have is the foam strip on it has torn off and I can't find where to replace it.

Since this has the same mounting pattern a the standard rail found on many new rv's, is it possible to remove just the old handle and remount just the new handle on the old plastic brackets?

Asked by: Patrick
If your old handle was made by Stromberg Carlson, like SKU#109179, the old plastic brackets can be reused as Stromberg Carlson uses the same bracket for their different hand rail models(except for the commercial line).

What number of pounds is this handle rated for?

Asked by: Barbara
According to the manufacturer: "We do not give weight capacity for our AM rails. They are more of an assistance/stability option which does not have a weight capacity." On the other hand, Stromberg Carlson offers a commercial line of hand rails which can support over 200 lbs. when mounted correctly. We unfortunately do not carry this 'AC' line of handrails and would have to special order them through our Technical Service Department @ 800.622.6264(M-F, 8:00-5:00 CST). You can view the manufacturer's lineup of handrails @ https://www.strombergcarlson.com
