When you're not towing, the cable easily clips to itself and stays out of the way. The 4' cable is recommended for bumper-pull trailers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great concept, needed accessory, just too short. The description says four foot length recommended for bumper pull applications so that is what I ordered. On my application (fairly short tongue cargo trailer), it would have been stretched so tight, it would pull the emergency disconnect pin while still sitting still; The disconnect box is mounted within about 15 inches back from the ball mount and it still won't safely reach the vehicle hitch. The advertised four foot length is if you stretch it to the point that all the coils are gone, it is just barely four feet. In my opinion, the four foot model has only about two feet of "practical usage". So, I have a four foot version laying on my work bench and I'm trying to figure what other use I can find for it. Suggestions: I do still like the concept however, so have ordered the six foot version. I am hoping it has a four foot "practical usage". My advice, ignore the four foot whatever the application, and get the six foot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trailer Breakaway Cable- 4’ Length Great product ... keeps the brake line neat and off the ground. Far superior to the coated wire that comes stock on trailers. I did have to move the brake controller back on the frame to ensure that the brakes tripped before getting to the end of the safety chain. A few more length options would be good so that process would not have to be done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No-Brainer This little cable makes nothing but sense. Easy change over from the previous cable plus it keeps the cable from dragging on the ground and the snap link makes for a really quick and neat attachment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from cable short great product however someone should mention that since this is spring like coil that if your existing cable is 4 you should order the six ft coil
