Flojet Triplex Automatic Water System Pump, 2.9 gpm (11 lpm) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great deal and quiet This pump works really great. It has more pressure than the one that came in my travel trailer, is MUCH quieter, and I was very happy with it from day one. I use it to pump out of my extra storage tanks into my potable tank, but I am thinking about installing it and using the old one that came with my camper instead since it is lots better than it. It has great water pressure, good flow, and draws less amps than the ShureFlo I have in my trailer. I highly recommend it as a replacement pump or an extra one. It comes with a couple of fittings to make it work in most every application already, but be sure to get some rubber grummits to put under it if you don't already have them. All in all, it works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Quiet I installed this last night and was very pleased at how much quieter this is than the pump that came with my camper. Installation was easy with the snap in connectors. My dry trips will be much nicer now that I won't have to deal with a pump that sounds like a jack hammer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flowjet 2.9 gpm this pump is a real workhorse - I ran it continuously nearly an entire day and it did not have any problems. Only issue is that it's not packaged well - mine came with broken plastic port because of the inadequate packaging and rough handling by delivery company.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Flowjet 2.9 It is quiet but my old flojet delivered more pressure. I will add the accumulator tank to get more pressure. Easy to hook up for sure. Does not cycle at night.

Does this need to be primed?

I would like to put a small hose on the suction/inlet end and put it into a 5 gallon water jug. This will then be used as needed for a water supply to my primitive cabin to supply water to the sink and "shower". Will this provide the suction/uptake or is there another pump I would need to get the water from the jug to the pump and then up through the pipes.

This water pump is self priming and is capable of 9 feet of lift. This pump is sufficient for your needs.

Do you use a 12volt marine deep cycle battery for power to the pump and how do you hook it up if so.

    Asked by: Anonymous
12VDC water pumps like this are either tapped into a pre-existing 12VDC electrical system like used in an RV or can be directly wired to a 12V battery with the proper amperage capability. There are two leads directly attached to the pump with stripped ends to terminate with but also requires a 10amp fuse to be wired in as well.

Can I use this to pump salt water, any corrosion concerns?

    Asked by: Anonymous
It would not be recommended. These fresh water pumps may be corrosion resistant, but not designed for Salt Water use. A Marine/Salt Water rated pump would be highly recommended.

According to the installation instructions: "Mount pump vertically, with pump head down or horizontally in an accessible location. If mounting vertically, motor up, attach motor mounts first then pump head mounts, while supporting weight of pump."
