Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential equipment for my RV We like to camp where there is a lot of space, which means it's sometimes difficult to reach the power source with the RV cord alone. I like that this extension cord has a loop for easy unplugging.

How safe is it to plug two of these extension cords in to adapt to service?

Asked by: Vincent
I'll preface my answer with, I am not a licensed electrician. While technically you can connect two of these cords together, you will encounter a fair amount of voltage drop at the end. As I understand, it is better to keep your voltage drop to 5% or lower for optimal performance. 100 ft. of this cord pushes the voltage drop into the 6% range according to voltage calculators you can find online. If you are just using these two cordsets, you would likely be fine, but if you have a third cordset to connect. Depending on the specs of the third cord, the voltage drop might be too much to appropriately power devices at the end.
