RV Safety Products
Although you may be parked out in the woods or along the ridge of a desert canyon, the same set of safety precautions apply to your camper or RV that you likely have in place at home. Just like the typical American home, your rig has various fuel sources and electrical components that can pose risks to your safety. By taking preventative measures into your own hands and installing safety items inside your RV, you will be protecting yourself and your loved ones from potential disaster, however unlikely it may be.
Your number one item would be a fire extinguisher. Compact models are available that can be easily mounted inside a cabinet or on a wall inside your RV. Be sure to place it somewhere easily accessible and that all campers know where it is located.
Another must have are smoke detectors. Although some campers don’t like putting them in their RV or camper because campfire smoke can set them off, it is far safer to have them installed and instead, position your fire away from your rig or close your windows.
Other items you will want to consider are carbon monoxide and propane or natural gas detectors. These hazards are far more difficult to detect and by the time you’re able to notice something, it could be too late.
Before you head out on your next camping trip, take a minute to evaluate the safety of your rig. The peace of mind of knowing that your camper or RV is safe for your friends and family is priceless.
