Rated 5 out of 5 by from king jack antenna with power supply Added plate to cover holes in roof of RV. This made it harder to mount since I had to seal antenna to plate and it was crowded with the RG6QUADCORE wire I used. My RV is in a enclosed garage on the house and I received 30 plus channels at 75-100 and I live in Carson City NV. Reno is the nearest stations I know of. 30 miles away and I don't have to worry about knocking it off like I did with the bat wing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good antenna This antenna came with our 2018 Winnebago Travato. I am always looking for that "great antenna" but once I tried this one out my search ended. Some of our camping is done in northern Wisconsin and most of the campgrounds have "triple canopy" forest. This antenna still pulls in channels. The old bat wing antenna we had on our other RV was just a decoration, never did pull in channels like this antenna.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much better design for antenna I like not having to lower this antenna before moving. Plus it works really well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed We received the antenna, installed it and we could not locate any channels after hooking it up. We had 2 channels with our old antenna and was hoping this would pick up more , but we lost all channels. Returned it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t buy!!!!!!! This is the worst antenna I have ever seen! We had a batwing antenna that we had to roll up and down so we decided to get this king antenna so we didn’t have to worry about forgetting to put it down. We went from getting 8-10+ channels down to not getting any steady channels. Digital strength is always toooooooo low!!!!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not worth the upgrade. Doesn't come with everything you need to install it. I receive less channels now than I did with my batwing antenna. The only thing it has going for it is I don't have to worry if I left it up when I leave.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great antenna option This is a great unit and takes the guess work of out finding a tower. It also is great to no longer have to worry about cranking up and down the batwing antenna for travel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Purchased same antenna that campet already had. Had damaged previous antenna by hitting low tree branch. Amplified signal immensely.

I installed a King Jack Antenna OA8500 in March of 2020. It worked fine until a couple of weeks ago, The red light and other led lights stopped working. I have tried to contact King Jack several times, left messages and can't get through to purchase parts

First make sure that the power button on the switch plate lights up green when you push it on. If not, then there is a 12V power supply problem. Remove the switch cover from the wall. There are three coaxial connections and two terminals (+ and -). Make sure all coaxial connections are tight. Be careful not to overtighten or to touch the two power terminals. While you have the switch out of the wall, use a voltmeter to test the voltage (only if the light is not green. The + terminal is located between the top and bottom coax connectors on the right as you look at the BACK of the switch cover. The - terminal is almost dead center. You should get a reading of about 12 volts. If you have power, and you do not get reception when you turn the tv on, then the switch is bad. If you have no power, double check your circuit breaker. Normally I would advise against doing any work on an electrical system with the power on, but in this case you need it to test. You might also want to check that your breaker hasn't tripped even before you start testing.

How do I know if my antenna has power to it?

Asked by: kramer5
There is a red led light that should be illuminated on the underside of the head on the roof.

I want to replace the old style King Jack antenna with one with a signal meter. Is this a direct replacement? Will power have to be run to the antenna location ?

Asked by: Daryl
No, it will not be a direct replacement. King changed the base shape and mount pattern for the Jack antenna. A new mounting plate had to be made to match the current generation of the antenna, we have the MB8200 plate listed as SKU#104880. A wall switch(hardwired to 12V) is included to supply power over coax to the antenna.

Will this antenna cover my old antenna holes? I have the one that come with the camper the old crank it up and down!

Asked by: richard
No, the footprint is different between the King Jack and the crank up antenna you currently have installed. It is recommended that you use the mount plate listed as SKU#104880 so that the old screw olds can be covered when the Jack antenna is installed.
