Dual microSD Card Slots

LOWRANCE HDS CARBON SONAR ADVANTAGES
Built-In CHIRP Sonar - Dominate with greater sensitivity, improved target resolution, and superior noise rejection for clearer, easy-to-see bait fish and game fish targets. Delivers multiple CHIRP and Broadband Sounder frequencies from a single transducer.

Dual-Channel CHIRP Sonar - Increases visible fish targets with two CHIRP frequency channels (low, medium, or high) at the same time. Keep favorite high CHIRP frequency visible for increased target separation close to the bottom or in tight schools, while at the same time viewing the low frequency channel to see more of the water column with wider and deeper cone angles.

Dual Network Sonar Views - Let you cover more water and see more fish targets from a network of CHIRP sonar transducers. Watch sonar views from a bow-mounted transducer and an in-hull or transom-mounted transducer at the same time on the same display.

Simultaneously View CHIRP Sonar with StructureScan 3D or StructureScan HD - To get the best possible view of fish and structure, below and to the sides of your boat.

Built-In Support for StructureScan HD Imaging - Enjoy picture-like, 180° views of structure and fish below your boat.

Built-In, Award-Winning Broadband Sounder - Display and mark gamefish, baitfish, and structure at higher speeds and at greater depths, down to more than 1,000 ft.

TotalScan Skimmer Transducer - The all-in-one TotalScan Skimmer Transducer receives Broadband and CHIRP sonar, plus StructureScan HD with SideScan and DownScan Imaging, making it possible to target fish and search for fish-holding structure with the same transducer. This transducer simplifies installations by allowing anglers to get all their sonar with only one transducer to install.

StructureMap Capability - Use live or recorded StructureScan 3D and StructureScan HD logs to create stunning underwater images of lakes, rivers, or the sea floor. StructureMap can be viewed as an overlay and toggled on and off to provide the ultimate in situational awareness in relation to both chart and bottom detail.

DownScan Overlay Technology - Overlays DownScan Imaging onto CHIRP Sonar or Broadband Sounder returns.

TrackBack - To review and save key hot spots. Scroll back through sonar or StructureScan HD imaging history to review structure or fish targets and pinpoint the location with a waypoint.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from HDS Carbon, Sweet I have now been running a HDS carbon 12 on my bow for over a year. I can honestly say I am very impressed with the Carbon. The processor speed of the unit for mapping you can zoom in and out very quick with no lagging, screens come up very quick and the user interface is so simple. You can access any menu and make changes to the unit within a few screens not like some other brands and their clunky menu system. Set up of the unit was easy and understandable. The clarity could be sharper as they didn't increase the display resolution as I would have expected as they did on the HDS Carbon 9 which I have two of at my console.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lowrance Does it Again! Just when you think a fish finder can't get any better, Lowrance proves you wrong! I started out using a Lowrance Elite 7, then upgraded to a Lowrance HDS 12 and 9 Gen3. I loved my Gen 3 but the only "issue" I had with them is I found them to have a bit of lag when navigating through the menus. Since then I have upgraded to the HDS Carbons and what a difference! These units are fast! Zero lag and the quality of the SolarMAX screen is on a level of it's own! Thank you, Lowrance for building quality products that year after year lead the field in technology advancement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultimate Setup I put two Carbon 12’s at the console of my Ranger to get as much screen space as I could. Now I can split the Structure Scan to look left on one and right on the other and still have screen leftover to add map and downscan. I can see every little detail on the bottom. The features I like most about the Carbon is the easy of networking all the units together, SolarMax screen and they are fast I mean real fast. I also add a Point-1 antenna and now no more map spinning. This setup has allowed me to maximize my time on the water for catching fish not just fishing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Numerous features I ordered my new boat with a 12” carbon at the dash and a 9” on the front. This is my first experience with touch screen units and they are impressive. The units are very responsive with graphics that are vivid, even in full daylight. The ability to monitor items on the NEMA network is very useful. It is also great that they can connect to my home wireless network and download updates. My only suggestion is for configuration presets so that a beginner like myself can set the unit up for shallow fresh water with one or two clicks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome unit! I currently have 3 HDS Carbon 12's on my new Lund 2175 Pro V. One is rigged on the console, one on the bow, and one at the transom so one is visible from anywhere in the boat. I have them all networked together with both NMEA with a Point 1 antenna and Ethernet and the Lowrance 3D. With all the units networked, I can share map data, sonar data and set up the screen views on each as I want so that I can view the sonar from my bow mount MotorGuide transducer while at the same time viewing the Downscan at the transom. And the side imaging can be viewed from any unit, right or left or both. With the two Ethernet ports on each unit...I also have a Sirius WM-3 weather module which is a big plus out here in Montana where we aren't always able to get cell coverage for weather.....but I can get the real time weather and radio from the Sirius via Satellite anywhere, and anytime. I use the Sonar Chart Live a lot and it is pretty awesome to be able to get real time, on the water mapping while you are fishing. I have come to rely very much on my Lowrance units to find and then catch fish. When I see what I want, I get pretty excited. I am an avid walleye fisherman and finding them sometimes is the hard part. Once I find them they generally are not that hard to catch. I spend a fair amount to have what I have for electronics but frankly it is some of the best money I spend. Even though I am retired and a part time fishing guide I still have a limited amount of time I can spend on the water and my Lowrance units make it as productive and as efficient as it can be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Ever I have 2 Lowrance Carbon 12s on my Ranger Bassboat, and in 40+ years of bass fishing this is the first unit I can clearly see the screen in bright sunlight with polarized sunglasses! With the fast processing speed you can't out run your map, which is especially important when following a route between dangerous shallows. I love the Carbon units and all their networking with my outboard engine, 3D StructureScan, Point 1, digital gauges, and more. Best of all I can see fish on my Carbons and catch them! How can I not love that!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome unit purchase the HDS 12 6 months ago. It has been a great unit for its chart plotter/fishfinder capability it has great bottom separation when your looking for lake trout and salmon on the bottom. I have this unit on my 33 Tiara

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best I have a two HDS Carbon 12s on my 2018 Nitro Z20. I recently replaced HDS 12 Gen 3 units with the carbons. The biggest thing I noticed with the carbons is the speed of startup and switching between pages as well as the refresh. This helps me see what I need faster without running over a spot several times. I fish several bass tournaments as well as a big series tournament director. I hear several people talk about their units and most run Lowrance and love the ease of use that the Lowrance units bring to the table. I love the compatibility between my Motorguide Xi5, Power Poles and my Lowrance units, it makes it easy and convenient. With structure scan and 3D I am able to locate structure and cover I would not normally find to put more fish in the boat.
