We'll be at an RV park in Minnesota this summer that is very nice, except everyone complains about the rusty water. Back when we had a house, we had rusty water and had to either use the salt made for that situation, or I remember that Culligan sold a chemical you could dump in with the salt. Does the company who makes this unit have any suggestions on this, or do they sell something we could add to the salt?
You can use products like Iron Out or Rust Out to assist in regeneration of the softener and keep it in good condition. Morton also makes water softening pellet formulated as Rust Remover.
