The Bay ST is the original Oru Kayak, launched on Kickstarter in 2012 and now available in retailers around the world; it’s even in the permanent collection of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Over the years we've thoroughly updated the design to enhance performance, making it easier to assemble and more comfortable to use than its predecessors. It's stable enough for beginners, while the length and contouring make it fast and sporty for experts. There's plenty of room to stash gear for day trips and short camping excursions. Best of all, transforming it from box to boat takes just a few minutes.
Oru Kayaks are made from a custom polypropylene, with a 10 year UV treatment, and a 20,000 fold cycle rating! While the hull is designed to take a beating, we suggest you treat your kayak like a fiberglass boat. Oru Kayaks come with a 12 month warranty.
Oru Kayaks use origami to deliver incredible tracking and stability— the hull folds create hard chines and a long keel line. The lightweight materials make handling easy and responsive. Oru Kayaks have been extensively tested in many environments - lakes, rivers, bays, and oceans.
