I replaced every hold down we have in our Motor Home. The first one I did, was a little
difficult as it was by our kitchen sink.... Hard to get to, took me a while to figure out how
the shade would go up and down with the new hard wear. Not sure what the Plastic
part is for, I never used it, but all of the little plastic round parts were cracking and
releasing the strings that pulled the shades up and down. Anyhow I redid all of them,
so I am good for a long while.
The cords from a pleated shade are run through the holes in the 'button' and tied off to the hold down. These created tension for the shade and are mounted below.
