Rated 2 out of 5 by from Add the Extended Warranty if you must get this model >We bought this PP Curve, along with an extended warranty, in June 2014, put water in it, and checked out the water system. All worked. We dumped out the water, put it back in the box, and it sat unused, on a couch in a heated and AC computer room for 10 months. >Fast forward to April 2015. We took it out of the box to get it ready for a trip, put a gallon of water in the fresh-water tank, and it did not work. The pump ran, but no water. This apparently is a major problem with this PP, checking online will reveal many pump problems with this electric model. >We took it back to Camping World. We told them of the many pump problems with this model; and that we wished we had purchased the 550P. They were great. They gave us a new 550P, along with a refund for the difference. We again purchased the extended warranty. Thanks Camping World!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Electric pump failure, can't replace. Only after a season and a half of use, less than 200 flushes, the electric pump failed to work. Called Thetford for a replacement part. They also directed me to Amazon where I could buy a new toilet for less than the replacement. When the pump goes, the entire unit is useless, there is no alternate way to flush. Company does not stand by it's product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage! Not worth a Just over 1 year old, used twice and the electric pump is fried. Not serviceable. Replacement is just about the cost of a new toilet. Manual replacement decent price but seems to be available outside of US only.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good toilet Very effective toilet; nevertheless, the inside hose connecting to the dc operated flushing may disconnect, creating an awkward situation to fix.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Great, works perfectly, its just exact size I was looking for, not to small but not to big. It is a bit higher off the ground, like that of a taller toliet, so might not work as well for those who are really short, i.e. kids, without a step or stool.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Be Patient With The Electric Flush System I have used a lot of different ones over the years in boats & RV's. As Porta-Potties go most of them the seat is too small for adults, this one fits adults very well. The height is good, the smaller holding tanks on some models make them too short for comfortable seating. The holding tank capacity is nice in that you don't have to worry about emptying it before the weekend ends.better to have one too large than too small. Now lets talk about the flushing system of this unit, the design is great but I went through three of these before getting one that works, and even the third one had failed but I needed a potty that weekend so I half filled the reservoir and left on out trip planning to just use a cup of water to flush with each time, but when we arrived at our camp I had to use the potty, I tried the electric pump when I was done it worked. So there is some sort of design problem with the way the pump primes itself. The solution seems to be to half fill the fresh water reservoir and slowly move the tank around for about an hours worth of driving. I would like to have been able to get the manual pump instead of the electric or at least be able to replace the electric pump with a manual pump if desired. Also a big pat on the back to Camping World's customer service, they worked with me and over-nighted replacement units at no extra cost to me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality Built Have been using Thetford products from Camping World several years;; I tell people that it is the most valuable piece of equipment I have on board my truck; Currently have the Curve which is the most advanced model; The 565P (E) is similar; They are ergonomically comfortable to use & fit easily under my bunk or on floor of storage compartments; There is no smell; I suggest using Thetfords best Aqua Kem liquid holding tank deodorant which you can find easily even @ Walmart; It is very simple to separate the top flush water tank & go dump the “treasure” in any toilet-the blue deodorant breaks the waste down into a slush like slurry; Have used many of Thetfords models over the years, the smallest one would be good for automobile usage; They are quality built & will last a few years, but over time the strong formaldehyde will cause the plastic to weaken; They can be a handy step stool in the truck; I do not see why every truckers would not find one of these an essential item as I do; They can be a lifesaver if King Montezuma knocks on your back door suddenly! I still urinate into my 1litre Pepsi bottles & dispose of them properly-by doing that I can go a month or so before having to go empty the “treasure” tank; Every truck stop should be selling these, but they don’t-many sell the liquid deodorant; I have only found a few drivers that have this wonderful product; It is hard to sell a truck driver on anything they don’t know they need...

What chemicals are needed for the top and bottom tanks?

Asked by: Stacy
Any holding tank chemical can be used in the lower section of this toilet. Due to the design and smaller capacity of the holding tank, liquid chemicals are recommended as opposed to drop-in packets. Follow the instructions on the bottle regarding how much water should be mixed with the chemical. Thetfords main product lines are Aqua-Kem and Eco-Smart, we carry both lines. Other RV/Caravan holding tank chemical brands can be used as well. As for the top flush-water tank, just use clean fresh water. An additive can be poured in as well, but is not necessary.

Is this Porta-Potti "curve" the same toilet as the Porta-Potti 565E? They look the same in the photos. If not, what is the difference? Thank you.
