Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent Regulator This is a decent regulator. Not sure what the other guy meant, but these are shipped from the mfgr with the bracket. If he didn't get one it's because CW is removing them (selling separate??). I bought mine at a local RV & Camp Ctr in CT and it works great. Word of caution!!! The mfgr changed the design in 2009! No longer offered w/the gauge as pictured. While you still get a gauge, it is quite a bit different than you'd expect. Still works, but you need to do more than just glance to see what's what. By the way...CW price is higher than MSRP - might check hammonassetrv.com for comparison pricing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very unstable I have new tanks, new hoses and I have owned this regulator for six months and the auto changeover has been very sporadic. It works when it wants to, during winter and summer. Now, it has stopped supplying gas. If I have two full tanks and open the valves, the red indicator goes away, I light the stove and in thirty seconds the flames dim and goes out. When I check regulator it shows red (empty) with two full tanks. So I disconnect hoses and reattach, open valves and repeat, but the same thing happens even with flipping the switch manually. Camping World customer service closed for three days because of 4th of July-glad it's not winter. Maybe we need to carry two of everything with us.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not suitable for northern climates This regulator works fine in plus zero temps. Mine is less than 1 year old, and it permanently stuck to the left side tank when using it in sub-zero weather. Even now that it is quite warm, it is still stuck. I have to keep switching pig tails on the tanks to be able to use it now that it is stuck to the left side tank. To be fair I've heard this is an issue with most regulators breaking in low temps and this has happened with a previous regulator as well. I will go with a single stage regulator from now on for cold climates. The changeover is a minor convenience, but not suitable to cold weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really works This product works like the "old" style changeover valves. Bought a new 5th wheel, could not take off one gas bottle while the other was still turned on. Found out from the dealer that all the new units are like this now. This auto regulator works great-just like the old style we used to have. Easy instalation, no leaks, and can keep the heat on while filling the empty tank. Well worth the time and little effort involved to replace the one that came with our new camper.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Regulator Failed During Cold Weather Automatic Changeover worked well and is a very nice feature, especially during cold weather. The setup worked fine for 2 months, in temperatures reaching near 0 deg F. Unfortunately, the regulator porttion of the device failed at a critical time during below freezing weather. Output volume decreased over a short period of time (several days) and eventually failed to deliver enough propane to the heater, preventing it from lighting and operating properly. BRRRRR.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No more cold nite switchovers! When I went looking for this product they sold both the mounting plate and the cover. I thought the price of both of these pieces of plastic was too high but I purchased them anyway. I had to create my own mounting support but a piece of stock did the trick... After drilling a few holes and purchasing the proper cables, everything went together smoothly and cleanly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This fixed more than 1 problem! I had trouble with my water heater staying lit, and also had trouble keeping my refrigerator cold while running on propane. I replaced my old Marshall 254 regulator with this Cavagna, and 2 problems were solved. The changeover indicator on this valve is also much easier to read than on the Marshall.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Unusual mounting requirements Although this regulator seems very nice, it requires a very unusual mounting bracket. My old regulator was simply screwed to a flat metal bracket. This new one, however, requires what appears to be a specially made bracket for mounting.

Can this be used with 2-20lb tanks for a BBQ?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Please be aware that this is a regulator. Many BBQ's have a built-in regulator as well, double regulating the propane flow will cause issues with flame height and/or ignition. Only BBQ's designed for "low pressure hook-ups" will work normally with this.
