I am a new RV owner with lots of questions!
Yes, before application of Protect All, the RV should be washed. As to how it should be washed, the owner's manual will have manufacturer care guidelines. If an owner's manual is not in your possession, you can usually download a copy or access general care info from the RV manufacturer website. In generalization, like on modern passenger vehicles, typical dish detergent is safe but will strip away current layers of wax. Thus reapplying a couple coats of wax afterwards is highly recommended. Automotive/RV style washes will not strip away layers of wax or polish.
