Great!
Great product, but not the easiest to install....
Lot's of arm-reaching behind cabinettes and wires to get to the hot water inlets. Maybe it's just my fifth wheel (Mallard) but this did take an hour or two. It took that long, partially, because I wanted to make double sure it didn't leak. Wouldn't that be a real....mess....
Love the quick winterize though. Took 2 bottles and 2 minutes.
I opened the valve momentarily at the end of the winterize process just to slosh a little bit of A-freeze into the 'undrained' fluid at the bottom of the hw tank.

Installing kit in a Lazy Daze Mid Bath
All worked ok but...
Bypass valve ports are marked incorrectly and flow direction is not indicated as mentioned in the instructions - so be CAREFUL when installing until they fix documentation on package.
Kit is missing one piece; a 1/2" IPT brass 90 degree elbow at the bottom inlet of the water tank. I "think" this would be needed on most rigs.
BTW, the plastic tee included in kit seems fragile and is easily cross threaded; but it worked...

Quick Turn By-pass Kit
This is the second RV I have installed one of theses kits.
The kits are easy to install. This install was in a motor
home, so space was not an issue. A note to Danielle at the
Junction City, Or. store; no additional fittings are needed,
as previous reviews suggested. It would appear previous
reviewers did not remove the small nipples going into the
tank. After they are removed, the connectors that come with
the kit, are all that's needed.

Good product
Have installed two of these kits in different motorhomes. Ease of installing depends on
where the water heater is located. First one under sink was pretty easy. Second one in
storage compartment on side was a little tight for space. On second one, I thought that I
would need some extra fittings, but after removing all fittings on water heater, the ones in kit
worked fine. As this is a universal kit, it may not work the same on all units. As to
comment that valve is labeled wrong, you have to pay attention to arrows on valves and
which position bypasses and which position allows flow. Only real problem I have with this
kit is that the hose is too long for a 6 gallon heater. It works, but if any longer, I think it would
kink. Two models, one for 6 gallon and one for 10 gallon would be nice.

Good Product
This was a good investment but very hard to install. Had to
purchase extra parts from hardware store just to make it
work. The plastic Tee is junk leaked no matter how much
pipe tape i applied replace with Brass and stopped leaking.
Also had to purchase 2 double female inline pieces to
connect everything because my water heater wouldn't allow me
to do exactly what the directions showed. My suggestions
would be to at least replace that plastic Tee with a Brass Tee.

Great Value
This kit worked as described, it is simple with only one valve, installation was easy as
all fittings supplied were of good quality and fit properly. Having said that, be prepared
for a little frustrating work depending on your existing water tank installation and
access to the plumbing. If access is good, installation is not that difficult. I would highly
recomend this kit as it is good quality and value for the $ outlay.

Great kit but ...
The kit is set up for fittings that come straight out of the water tank. If your tank has 45 or 90 degree elbows on it and semi-rigid water pipe you will probably need some extra parts from the hardware store. It pays to have a look at your tank first and save an extra trip. Overall, it is an excellent idea at a very reasonable price and well worth the time and trouble of the installation.

Have to install on hot water tank. Would it work?
Installing where my elec. pump is complicated. Hardly any acess .
If you want to create a bypass for your water pump, yes most of this kit could be used depending on the fittings being used around your pump. However, the whole point of this kit is to create a bypass for the water inlet on the water heater so you do not have to fill it with anti-freeze during winterization. That alone saves 4 to 6 gallons of anti-freeze. If you want to create a port on your water pump to help with winterizing, we have #6279.
