Features
The Katana is ready to take you anywhere in open water and in all kinds of various conditions. Designed with 100% carbon laminates for a more dynamic, faster-reacting ski with less swing weight, the Katana keeps your speed up and gives an energetic ride. Designed with Bent Vee technology, the ski features additional surface area behind the boot area for lift on deep-water starts and stability while skiing straight. The widest point in the tip is much further forward than a conventional slalom ski, giving the feeling of a longer base and a more stable ride. When the ski is turned on edge, it creates an automatic turn based on the inside radius sidecut and just pivots through side turns. Early rise, high carve rocker in the front gives a shorter turn radius and transitions in the bevels to a flat, consistent rocker in the rear to maintain stability. Plus, the Katana also features a second bevel rocker to level the attitude of the ski in water, making it ideal for free skiers.
Radar Alloy is constructed with 100% carbon laminates and Hybrid All Terrain core, the most forgiving core in the Radar lineup. The All-Terrain hybrid combines Aerocore and Paulownia wood stringers in the tip of the ski to allow it to absorb rough water and vibration. And by adding stringers only in the tip, there's no sacrifice of reactivity from the ski's running surface. AeroCore from the ski boot location through the tail maintains acceleration and performance. Polished base is an aluminum mold that keeps a constant finish on the ski's base to make it appear glossy and help offer unchanging performance. TruTLine includes high-strength, flush-mounted inserts for boot and fin mounting. After the ski has been molded, each insert location is drilled via CNC positioning to find the exact location.
