Features
Designed for boats with existing mechanical steering systems, the Raymarine Mechanical Linear Drive provides powerful thrust, fast hard-over times, and quiet operation. Mounted below deck, the linear drive moves the rudder directly by pushing the tiller arm or a rudder quadrant. Low back-drive force minimizes the drive's effect on the boat's steering when the autopilot is in standby. The powerful electric motor is controlled by an electromagnetic fail-safe clutch, using a high-tensile belt drive and epicyclic gearbox. The drive's high level of performance also results in minimum current consumption. For use with mechanically steered vessels up to 33,000 lbs. Part#: M81131.
NOTE: A linear drive unit connects to the rudder stock via an independent tiller arm. Accessory fittings from your steering manufacturer may be required.
