Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smart system! The monitor replaces the rear view mirror which is useless in my vehicle, so this mounting option is perfect. I was hoping not to have to put another display on my dash and with this system I don't need to!

About the Camera...does this stay on all of the time and not just during backing up?

We have a 30' motorhome and want to buy a rear view system for it. Does this stay on while driving down the road so as to see what is behind you?
Asked by: June Bug
The camera can be wired in a way that it remains on all the time. Or if the traditional 'active on backing up' wiring is chosen, the camera can be manually turned on for active feed while driving.

Is the mirror/monitor clear when not in use?

Asked by: Anonymous
The display will be blank with no reflective surface. This unit takes the place of the factory rear view mirror on the windshield. However, you loose the functionality of reflective mirror when this unit is in place. Rear View Safety does offer mirrors that are still functional and have a built in monitor. They can be viewed here.
