Bulk Ammo at Premium price
Tested this bullet next to other HV premium bulk 22 ammo like CCI Mini-Mag 40 grain, Aguila HV, Win Super X and Fed Game Shock out of a Savage heavy barrel FV at my 50 yard range. All of the above bullets cost between $.08 to $.10 per round. Premium bulk ammo should shoot better and be more reliable than .05-.07 bulk ammo.
Average 5 shot group for Rem Golden 40 grain came in at 1.15 inches.
CCI Mini-Mag 40 grain 0.7 inches, Win Super-X 0.83 inches, Aguila HV .85 inches, Fed Game Shock rounded the field at 0.92 inches.
Gander M price for this bullet is actually 25% more than the CCI Mini-Mag! I think Remington needs to reposition this product back to bulk rates of $.055-$.07 per round.

Good ammo as far back as I can remember
These Remington "Golden Bullet" .22 LR high-velocity rounds were at one time, before the hyper-velocity craze, Remington's best quality rimfire product. I've used them since 1974. Purchased for plinking with my Browning BL-22. NO failures of any kind. Consistently hitting a 2" metal swinging target at 40 yards with open sights. My little Browning rifle likes these on paper too, dime sized groups are the norm @ 50'. Shooting is a lot more fun when you're confident that if you do your part you know you're going to hit your target. Clean burning and very little barrel residue. Rabbits and squirrels beware.

Not the best!
Inconsistent bullet to bullet. Jams in most semi auto rifles and pistol. Great for bolt action, lever action, and revolvers but the accuracy from bullet to bullet is poor. Spend 1.3 cents more on better ammo your days at the range or in the woods will be better.

Really awful stuff
Jams jams and more jams. Used in my Ruger 10/22 and Marlin 795, each of which were thoroughly cleaned before heading to the range. Got lots and lots of failures to feed and eject, stovepipes, etc. Didn't have any problems with Federal bulk or CCI mini-mags. When it loads correctly it does go bang, but there's better stuff out there.

stuff jams bad
I can't believe Remington would put their names on this box of junk. I had more jams, missfires, and powder fowling in just a few boxes of this stuff. Used them in 3 different guns which were CLEAN. Would NOT RECOMMEND for anything, ESPECIALLY for you who have C.C. pistols.

Great ammo
Remington Golden Bullet 22 LR ammo is one of my favorite rounds. It performs better than most of it's competition in accuracy and reliability. It works well in my 10/22, Marlin 60 and my Remington 597, as well as several pistols.
