Features
Mounting brackets (a.k.a. ‘baseplates’) provide an attachment point for the tow bar.Every mounting bracket is custom-made to fit a specific vehicle or range of vehicles. They consist of two main parts: the part you can see (the removable 'front arms') and the part you can't (the steel braces attached to the frame). For most vehicles manufactured in 2013 and later, at least two different styles are offered:
How are they attached?
Roadmaster tow bar mounting brackets are integrated into the frame and undercarriage of the vehicle, connecting to existing holes and fasteners wherever possible, for a quick, easy installation by your local professional. (Although Roadmaster recommends a professional installation, many 'shade tree mechanics' have proven to be more than up to the task. It depends on your aptitude and the level of confidence you have in your mechanical abilities.)
What will they look like on my car?
Once they're installed, the only part of the mounting bracket you'll see are the 'front arms,' and only when you're towing.
What makes Roadmaster brackets superior?
A better design — our brackets are integrated into the frame and undercarriage of the vehicle, connecting to existing holes and fasteners wherever possible, for a quick, easy installation by your local professional.
- The Direct-Connect style allows you to connect your tow bar directly to the mounting bracket. This is the easiest system to connect and disconnect. If you're using a motorhome-mounted tow bar, this is the bracket you should choose.
