replacement gas alarm
one morning the rv smelled like propane. I found one of the burners on but not lit on the stove. The existing propane alarm didn't make a peep. I aired out the rv, and figured I'd better replace the alarm.
This new one was an exact replacememt for the original, fit in the same hole, attached with the same screws, hooked up with the same witing connector. Hopefully it will also work.

Propane alarm
It fit the opening of the old one and works just fine. However, one suggestion---it would
be helpful if you included a little more information for those of us who are not
familiar with DC wiring and the wire colors (yellow/white not red/black) etc. Thanks

Safe-T-Alert Propane gas alarm - flush mount
I received this propane alarm very quickly. I found it was the exact same size as the one I
was replacing. Very simple wiring and easy to hook up. It fit into the same hole without
any re-sizing. Very happy with this unit.

replacement. Easy mounting using the the original prep. Works as it is supposed to.

perfect replacement item
I'm slow, clumsy and arthritic and I had the old one replaced in 10 minutes. I didn't
know they needed replacing until I saw a blog somewhere. When I got the old one out there
was a hand written notice to replace before 12/7/08. Lotta good that did, hidden on the
back, inside a cabinet behind the garbage can.

What is physical dimensions of this unit please?
Case Size: 4.8’W x 3.4’H x 1.4’D

I don't see anything that says this is a "Natural Gas" detector except the title. Other sources do not list this as a NG detector, only Propane (LP). NG is piped to houses. LP is refined gas from oil, not directly from ground as a natural gas.
The manufacturer(MTI Industries, Inc.) printed specs state that this 40 series alarm is UL listed (1484, Rev.2) as a Propane and Methane(Natural Gas) detector. Specifications and manuals can be accessed on the manufacturer website.

Is the 12v 2 wire connector included?
This unit has a Red(+) and Black(-) lead attached.

Does this control the Propane gas valve?
No, it does not.
