Rated 2 out of 5 by from Better than some, not as good as others I bought these when I thought I lost my Abel nippers (I found them after two months sitting on a riverbank). These nippers are just OK. The jaws do not line up perfectly due to play in the hinge out of the box, making them less effective at cutting smaller tippet sizes like 4x-6x. I can't speak for other anglers, but I use the outer edges of my nipper blades more than the center of the blades, and the misalignment is especially pronounced at the edges, meaning they gnaw rather than slice. My Abel nippers are as sharp now as they were 11 years ago when I purchased them. I will note that I much prefer the needle placement on the Simms nippers. For a backup pair, these are fine. If you want the best (and don't lose things) spend the extra cash on a premium nipper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved and Lost! Excellent nippers handling all line sizes! I loved them right up until I left them attached to a set of borrowed waders outside El Calafate, Argentina. I realized I forgot them halfway back to town on a very long, unpaved road. And to top of the day, we didn't catch a single fish - but had a wonderful time taking in the scenery!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but need some replacement I bought them three years ago with extensive use in fresh water with all kinds of nylon. I must say I am very happy, this is a good took, but after three years the blades needs to be replaced or sharpened again..Now, How can I do that? Can I take the blades out of the jaws? Santiago

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best Can't beat the Guide nippers, I've had mine for years now and they still cut line like the day I got them. They did start to get a little squeaky on me about a year ago, but I put a few drops of WD40 in the bearing and it was like they were brand new again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great NIPPERS, check tightness of blades from time to time Great Nippers. TIP: Check the tightness of the screws holding the blade from time to time. Only one of my blades detected and I lost the blade without knowing. Now I'm on the hunt for replacement blades since I only lost one it. Otherwise great nippers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simms Nipper's last! Perfect size for sausage fingers to computer hands. No need to squeeze hard, the hinge is set at the perfect resistance. I have them on all waders, boat bags and sling packs. I've been using them for years and have had no issues with wear and tear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eye cleaner access the best. Readily available without being a dangerous.. cutters close with a small fraction of the effort required by all others. Extremely light weight. By far the best design I have seen in my 40 years of fishing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product. It is smaller and lighter than the version I have had for several years, but it is mighty! It clean cuts a variety of line sizes. I paired it with the Guide Lanyard so it is readily available.
