Shield your towed vehicle from gravel dings with the Smart Solutions Rock Solid Tow Guard for Trucks.

Made of durable, lightweight, all-weather-resistant TPR (thermoplastic rubber) strips, the Rock Solid protective guard offers effective protection from the costly damage that road debris can cause to your towed vehicle. The stripped design not only shields towed vehicle, but allows for ventilation as well. It mounts on the rear hitch, and you can trim or eliminate strips to accommodate mufflers, hitches or wiring. Galvanized steel mounting brackets. Includes 4" lift bracket that eliminates gap between top of Guard and bumper, steel angle mounting bar and hitch insert bracket to fit 2" receiver hitch. Measure from bumper to ground and subtract 4" to determine correct height.

This is a pretty good rock guard. I had trouble because my hitch sits back a little from the edge of the bumper. By the time I s...lid in the tongue the rock guard barely had room to bolt on. I like that it is easliy removable though. It does require some drilling in order to bolt it all together.

It may be a good product but....

I ordered the product from CW and it shipped right away. The package just arrived via UPS and it (the package) was clearly inadequ...ate as a shipping container. The package was a single sheet of corrugated cardboard folded around the various components of the Rock Solid Guard. In addition to the flimsy nature of the shipping carton, the manufacturer had only used a single piece of clear shipping tape to seal the package. Since some of the parts are medium heavy steel, the carton burst open during shipment and parts were missing (lost in a UPS warehouse I assume). I wanted to use this Guard over the coming weekend, but due to the missing parts I will be unable to do so, so I cannot report on how the product itself functions. Based on the crappy packaging I rated this at three stars. I "may" be able to rate this higher in the future, but the manufacturer needs to address the flimsy packaging to be sure customers get what they pay for in a timely fashion. This package was so flimsy that any reasonable person could see it would not hold up during shipping. Because there are a number of small, heavy parts left loose inside the flimsy cardboard it should also have been obvious that parts could be lost during shipment since the packaging is not heavy enough to sustain repeated handling.

Does this guard insert directly into the hitch reciever without drilling the bumper?

This guard does not insert into the hitch receiver instead it mounts around a ball-hitch insert(not included with hardware).
