Rated 5 out of 5 by from How It's Been Done I had the chance to listen to people that "winged it" through great depression. Cooking on the fly, from and with what was on hand, became a craft. I am a good cook and good at creating from what's available. The folding handles came off the large pot, the bail will work fine with the tri-pod. These pots are mirror polished inside and the lids fit snug and perfect. This is larger than an old metal paint can, the campfire is about the size of an old 2lb coffee can (double wall out of high grade stainless). I really bought this set for the solid stainless pan (no laminated bottom) but I know I'm going to enjoy using the bigger pot above the "flash hider" like campfire.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent tripod for backpackers! This is an excellent tripod for backpackers. It's lightweight (19 oz) but sturdy and stable enough to hold a percolator full of water without issue. Each leg unscrews into 3 pieces and it all fits in a stuff sack under a foot long. It's better to have separable legs as the collapsible ones have elastic that tends to melt when you cook. The chain length can be adjusted using the attached pin (use a tool to grab the chain if it's already hot!). And it's aluminum so it won't rust if you leave it out in the rain. It may cost a little more than some other camping tripods but for that extra $$ you'll get a tripod that's barely noticeable in your pack and will last for a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solo Stove Tripod of Awesomeness When I reviewed my Solo Stove Pot 1800 I mentioned how I like to cook with it using a makeshift tripod--no more! This awesome little piece of kit is another home run from the makers of Solo Stove. First off, I wasn't expecting a carrying case when I got it. Which was dumb because of course it should have one!? It's the same rugged nylon the Solo Stove and Pot 1800 comes in (making a nice matching set). The tripod itself is light, puts together easy, and is very robust. It makes cooking so much more fun. You can regulate the heat better and it helps make a bomber platform for the cooking pot--no fears about it accidently spilling over. This tripod is a must add for your cooking kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for camping and emergencies. I own this pot / pan set along with the SoloStove Campfire Stove. The stove and pots work so well together. I wanted this kit for emergencies and camping out of my car. I wanted a way to boil water and cook if the power goes out. I am more prepared with the stove/pots combo. It's so easy to gather fuel and because it burns so efficiently & smooth, a little bit of twigs, sticks, etc. goes a long way. I sometimes use a cotton ball soaked in vaseline to act as a fire starter. It's made of steel yet it's light weight considering the size. It's extremely well made and I expect it to last for a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I tested this to see how it holds up I tested this with a Lodge cast iron 8 quart deep side Dutch oven that was about half full of water (about 30 pounds) and it held up fine. The legs were stuck about 1/2" in the ground. I nudged it and swung the pot slightly and it remained stable. If this were used on rock or hard ground you would have to secure the legs from splaying out when it carries a load (as would be the case for any tripod). The threads connecting the leg segments are not as prone to cross threading as some suggest because the thread pitch is relatively coarse. It stows compact, light weight and well designed product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from if i could give this 4 and a half i would if i could give this 4 and a half i would i l love feel of them nice and thick ,i like the Measuring Guide on the side nice and big the handles are sturdy ,and the pot is nice and big the pan is just the size you need to fry the bacon and eggs in ,all in all a well made well put together pan set. but if there is a down side it is the fact that if you try to steam cook with them it is real top heavy , and the only other thing that would be nice is a way to strap the lids to the pots so thay are not free to move around in the bag. but as a pot set for the camp fire 4.5 well made and very sturdy
