Does the protector still protect when power drops and then resurges?

Some places we have been have lost or dropped power an then had the power come up to norm. This ahs resulted in converter and appliance problems. After spending several hundreds of dollars in repairs we are trying to find a surge protector that will stop a low drop and a high surge with returns to regular wattage that will not go past the protector and not do damage inside.

SKU#73995 will cut power if voltage drops below 90. However, to have actual Over/Under Voltage protection, you will need to upgrade to one of the models like SKU#81278 & SKU#90196 by TRC. Or Progressive Industries models SKU#56422, 56417, & 56420.
TRC Surge Guard Comparison Chart
Progressive Industries Unit Comparison Chart

Will a 30amp surge guard (with adaptors) protect a 50amp motorhome?

Asked by: Anonymous
No, the Surge Guard should match the electrical system of the RV. With adapter/pigtail, a 50amp Surge Guard can be used on a 30amp source.

Can you connect between cord and unit or does it have to be plugged directly in campground outlet.

Asked by: Sandy
For the surge guard to work optimally and as designed, it has to be plugged in directly to the campground outlet. However, if a Voltage Regulator product is also being used, then the Voltage Regulator can go first then the Surge Guard.

Does this have a time delay before it resets?

Asked by: Anonymous
No, it does not have a time delay. I just purchased one and it lets the power through immediately upon turning on the pedestal breaker. To test it I turned the breaker off to simulate a power failure and turned it on after a minute or so. It powered up right away. It may protect from surges but probably won't do anything for your AC compressor in a very short duration power outage.
