Rated 1 out of 5 by from Go with your gut when buying not the description First use blacked out the the entire rv. I unplugged waited plugged back in waited and allowed it to run its course for an hour. RV was still with out power for most of the evening until I gave up and went unprotected until I can call the company. Expensive piece of equipment to not work on the first try. Worked find for the first two hours. I should have went with my gut and went with a different one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful!! Exactly what I needed & wanted. My old, less accurate surge guard was wearing out after only 18 months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great surge protector at a great price Have not take this out "on the road" yet, but I have it in my barn and connect to it just like a campsite. Works great and at least it shows me that I can wire up a 30 amp service correctly!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works for me. I like it. after plugging it in without connecting to the rv to verify power, always remember to connect rv with fuse switch off, then turn on fuse. this avoids arcing

Just bought this unit, was told by two salesman that this was not a one time surge protector. But I read in the instructions that if it does trip and protects the trailer, it will not work anymore and would have to be replaced. Please explain.

Asked by: 95 Lowbuck
It depends on the severity of the power surge. For the most part, the Surge Guard will automatically reset after a surge and continue to operate until used up. Or a large enough power surge occurs that makes the unit sacrifice its self. Surge Guard's by Southwire are not field repairable, so when the unit is used up, it will have to be entirely replaced.

The female l connector appears to be integral with the unit. When the connector fails, as most eventually meet that fate, is it replaceable? If not, the entire unit would be lost because of the connector.

Asked by: Gary

Does the bluetooth capability only work with the wireless screen that must be purchased separately or can it link to an app on an iphone/android?

Asked by: Troy

Will this work with a generator?

Asked by: nbgday

the documentation included with the unit does not describe the error message "BEL peers" . this error message is not described on the Southwire website either. the error message is to state that the optional wireless remote is not present!!!
