why make this so long to from
So far a nice addition to the camper tool kit
I am only giving this a 4 start as i have had it for 2 weeks and one camping trip. My observations so far: its heavy so if you are hanging it from something be aware it will cause strain on the outlet; if you forget the manual the color codes are written on the body; the lights seem to be very bright and might bring attention to the surge protector (I'm thinking about covering up the outside cover); it takes some muscle to push in and pull out of the socket (could be seen as a good thing though considering the weight of it). Ask me in about 6 months as i have a couple of long camps in the next couple of months outside of my normal COE campgrounds.

50 amp surge protector
50 amp surge protector looks and so far is working but i recieved it 2 and a half weeks late. It was suppose to be at my location before i got there or i would have bought it some ware else. Not happy with purchase and service from camping world. Probbably wont use or purchase anything from camping world again unless it is the only way. I called and they said thats the way it is they really didn't care. I even text about the issue and got no response. Their service from me is a big 1 rating. I hope they don't treat everyone this way.

Does the job
So far so good. I am replacing a surge guard brand protector due to it malfunctioning. I like the bright less on this one better. One issue I have found is the clear cover will not close over my plug handle due to its design.

I like the shortness so that it plugs in close to the box. Seems to work great although I have not ran into an alarm situation yet.

Would this work for a 30 apm. service RV?
It is not a problem to use an adapter or pigtail to plug this 50amp surge protector in to a 30amp source if a 50amp outlet is not available.
However if your RV is wired for 30amp service, please use the 30amp version of this surge protector which listed as SKU# 102486
