Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hot water again I installed this myself which was easy to do. The water heater works great, produces more than enough hot water. A nice easy adjuster for water temperature. My only suggestion to suburban and camping world is that the LP supply line is different than the original which will cause the do-it-yourselfer a delay in installation, this info should be made available to the purchaser and suburban does not even give this info to the RV dealers (which I visited ) on the supply line. If you are a do-it-yourselfer go to an LP installation company for a supply line. Overall I am very pleased with the product

Does the trailer have to be level when trying to light the pilot on a SW6P water heater? I removed the small gas line from the box to the pilot and cleared the blockage but still can't get it to light. Can't smell any gas either. Stove burners work.

Asked by: BobD
It is highly recommended that you contact or visit a local authorized service center for Suburban water heaters. Linked below is the manufacturer's service center locator tool. https://www.airxcel.com/suburban/service-support/service-locator

Would this fit in a 1984 Bigfoot camper trailer

Asked by: Calbarb
We do not have the ability to identity factory installed components or verify product compatibility based on RV year/make/model. This SW6P model water heater can replace any 4 or 6 gallon water heater by Suburban as the same sized compartment is used. However, Suburban offers their water heaters with different features(direct spark, pilot, electric element, etc.), so it is highly recommended that the currently installed water heater be inspected to find a manufacturer model so that a direct replacement unit can be located.

Will this fit in my 1990 39 foot bounder?

Asked by: cori
If you are replacing a 6 gallon Suburban water heater with SKU#5844, yes it will fit since the same cutout area is used. If this is a new install, dimensions are 12-11/16"H x 12-11/16"W x 19-13/16"D
