Suburban Anode Rod Replacement

Catalog Item # 42180

Sacrificial anode rod protects your water heater tank from corrosion by attracting corrosive elements in water, so they attack the anode rod rather than your water heater tank interior.

Simply remove the anode rod from the tank and inspect it every three months. If it is mostly eaten away, replace it with a new one to extend the life of the tank.

I have burnt my element up is this was I need to replace my element on a SW10DE?
No, an anode rod has a separate function from a heating element. We have a replacement heating element with gasket for Suburban water heaters listed as SKU#15392 (MFG part#520900). This part is not listed on our website, contact Sales @ 888.626.7576 to order.

If it is true American Standard used the same design as Suburban, the threads for the water drain port where the anode rod installs will be 3/4" pipe thread. Which in turn makes this anode rod compatible.
