The Suburban Anode Rod Replacement protects your water heater tank from corrosion by attracting corrosive elements in water so they attack the sacrificial anode rod rather than your water heater tank interior. Simply remove the anode rod from the tank and inspect it every three months. If it is mostly eaten away, replace it with a new one to extend the life of the tank. 0.75" dia. x 9-1/2"L

Anode Rod
I replaced the rod I had as it was aluminum and it did not work correctly IMO. I had a
magnesium rod before the aluminum and it dissolved as it was supposed to. Shipping was
before schedule and the product fit perfectly.

A little cautious ordering online.
We were sure if the replacement part we ordered would be the correct one for us or if it work work. We have had problems with other online orders that were not what was advertised or waited months for it to arrive. Everything went great!! Will order from Camping World again.

Fix odor?
I purchased this item because there is a peculiar smell from the bathroom sink hot water faucet. When I drained the tank last spring the Anode was in bad shape. Here’s hoping this will fix the problem.

ROD REPLACEMENT
The rod went in very easily. But remember to completely
drain the system or the rod will shoot out. So don't stand
in front of it when removing.

I just bought a used 2017 Forest River Shamrock; I'm not sure what brand of heater is in it, but the anode rod looks very similar to the old version in the product add. Any chance you can confirm my Shamrock has the Suburban heater?
We unfortunately do not have a reference system that identifies what appliances where installed in a specific make/model RV while at the factory. If you open the access door to the water heater, there should be a manufacturer label on the back of the door or on the door frame of the water heater.

Will this fit the Suburban SW6DE?
Yes. Thank you.

can u use a Suburban brand for a Dometic brand water heater anode rod?
Dometic water heaters are made by Atwood Mobile, which actually do not require an anode rod due to the tank being made of aluminum. However, if a anode is wanted for an Atwood water heater, please see SKU# 18413 as Suburban and Atwood use different drain hole diameters. The anode rods cannot be interchanged between the water heater brands.

What to use to remove anode rod?
I have a new anode rod and two 1 1/16" socket wrench, neither one will work. Do you have a special tool that will work?
1 1/16 in. 12 point works fine. My 6 point doesn't quite fit.

Is this a element?
I have burnt my element up is this was I need to replace my element on a SW10DE?
No, an anode rod has a separate function from a heating element. We have a replacement heating element with gasket for Suburban water heaters listed as SKU#15392 (MFG part#520900). This part is not listed on our website, contact Sales @ 888.626.7576 to order.
