Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works The Way Intended The surge guard fits easily within the lock-box. This will keep an honest person from taking your surge guard but I think a determined thief with a little time could defeat the box. It's made of plastic and with the right tools could be removed while locked. Hopefully all my fellow campers will not be thieves.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK, but it could easily be defeated. I was very surprised at how loosely the box fit on the plugs. I can see that this could be defeated relatively easily. But I also realize that anyone brazen and/or diligent enough could break anything. It is definitely better than nothing. Be careful with the tabs where the two halves hook together. The can snap will minimal pressure when connecting on the plugs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does not fit. I ordered the Surge Guard Universal Lock Hasp before I actually took delivery of my new Jayco fifth wheel trailer. Upon taking delivery of my fifth wheel I discovered that the power supply cord that came with the unit has a useful handle on the male end to facilitate easy and safe disconnecting of the cord. The problem is that the handle is to large to fit within the Surge Guard Universal Lock Hasp. As a consequence, I now have a Surge Guard Universal Lock Hasp that I have no use for.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Surge Guard Purchased this product to replace the older metal style for 30 amp service. The newer service plugs are too large to be able to lock. The product is made of plastic which is not much of deterrent to someone who really wants a surge guard. Good set of diagonal cutters can cut aft of lock area and open the product up. This product is for honest people. It will keep the service cord from being disconnected by children playing around the pedestal. Plenty of room for even 50 amp.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not compatible We purchased this item to secure our surge protector. It is not useable with a Progressive EMS-PT30C.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t buy it Cheap plastic, you could break into this with a pocket knife. Don’t waste your money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good design but poor material choice This came free as a promotion for the purchase of a surge protector and I have used it. I would not have purchased it at the MSRP due to the fact that if someone wanted to remove it they could easily do so if they had the right tools. It is plastic so a large pair of diagonal cutters could cut the tabs that the padlock goes into. I think that constructing it out of some metal such as aluminum would be much better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Surge Guard Lock I bought a 30 amp surge guard about 3 years ago with a locking hasp that was made of metal and a lot more sturdier then this one. I recently replaced my male plug on my camper and the old style would not fit. I bought this one as a replacement and I must say I was disappointed in the quality. It is made of plastic and even when locked it does not seem to be to thief proof, but it is better then nothing.

Does this lock fit only on Surge Guard models or will it fit on other surge protectors?

Asked by: brewcrew22
This hasp is designed primarily for Surge Guard models, but other brands may fit if the back of the cords are flat. It is recommended you check the second product image we have loaded as it has the dimensions of the hasp.
