Worst bike rack ever!
This bike rack beat up my bikes. We drove from Minnesota to Florida. By Florida the bikes were badly scratched and dented from swaying back and forth and rubbing against each other. On the return trip, my daughter's bike fell off the rack even though it was securely tightened and a lock on it. I saw the bike bounce down the highway while driving through a construction zone; there was no way to go back for it. The bike was lost while I was hoping no one was hurt or any car damaged by hitting the bike in the road.

Swagman Bike Carrier Rack
Nothing weak about this carrier. Construction is heavy duty. Installation is easy. Like the
fact I can use it on any 2 inch receiver. Holds 3 bikes. I mainly use it on my travel
trailer. The bike receiver has a hole through both plates that facilitate a lock. I use a
round u haul lock which is short shanked and would frustrate anyone who tried to get
the plates apart apart with the lock on. The downside...I spent over $100 to facilitate a
bike I got for free. Go figure.

Swagman Standard 3-Bike Rack
This rack is well constructed and performed great on my RV.
The self locking nuts, firm rubber cradles, and powder
coated parts should insure this carrier will last a while.
While one knob of the securing plate is keyed to lock it is
not a real deterrent for theft as it is easily defeated.
Overall a good product.

Nice rack!
Just got this and put it together. Well built and easy to assemble. Looks sturdy but it will be a month before I actually move with bikes attached. Any problems I'll update this review. Oh, instructions call for 18mm socket or wrench, for us in the US that is 3/4 inch will work.

Dangerous rack - do not recommend
I purchased this rack from Camping World because it was advertised specifically for mounting on the back of RVs Most common racks say to never do this. After a 200 mile day of driving on good freeways - I found that my bike had fallen off. I was able to find it on the side of the road, but it was destroyed. I tried to get Swagman to honor their warranty, but they said I mounted it incorrectly and the tires hit the ground, causing the securing plate to bend upward. This is not true - I followed their instructions to the T and all required clearances were well above minimums. Plus I have the tires and there's absolutely no marks as if they hit the road. My opinion is the plate is too narrow and the rocking of the bike bent it. In any case, I'd recommend staying away from this - not because Swagman wouldn't honor their warranty - but because a bike falling off the back of a rig could potentially cause serious personal or property damage. Stick with the traditional two arm racks that distribute the load over a wider area.

Not Happy
I'm not real happy with rack, with the bolts on top, some bikes are very hard to get over bolts. it scratched up the paint on frame. plus with my bike having loop handle bar, I could not get all three bikes on the rack

Great bike rack!
This is a good sturdy bike rack. Very well made. It will hold all three bikes well. Although you have to watch the total weight.

Do you make a two bike rack?

Will this fit a 1 1/4" (inside dim) receiver hitch?
As is no, this bike rack is engineered to fit a 2" square. A reducer would have to be used to fit a 1.25" square. As well as specs for the hitch receiver double checked for maximum weight capacity to ensure failure does not occur with the bike rack plus bikes mounted.

What keeps the front wheels from flapping around. What keep them stationary?
Per the manufacturer: "To prevent the front wheels and handlebars from moving about during transport, we recommend a nylon strap or standard bungee cord, routed through the wheel spokes and around the downtube of the bike frame."

Threaded hitch pin?
Just wondered if this includes the threaded hitch pin? I don't see this model listed on Swagman's website, is this made exclusively for Camping World?
Yes, a 5/8" threaded hitch pin and clip is included. No, this is not an exclusive product to Camping World. Swagmans website had a redesign a little while ago and had some racks missing from their product list. Here is the manufacturer product page.

Will this work with a travel trailer tongue mounted bike bunk?
