Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great As full-timers, we depend on water filters. TastePureKDF works great. Our filters last three months of everyday use. People have problems when they: (1) don't use a proper water hose (white); (2) don't flush the hose with bleach periodically; (3) allow water to sit for weeks without rinsing the hose; (4) don't follow directions for installation and refuse to do an initial flush of excess carbon, etc. Hand tightening is enough when one uses teflon tape on the joins. If you're camped in sandy water areas or poor well water you can't expect the filter to solve those problems. For extra caution and coffee, we use an additional filter in the kitchen.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good water taste I live in my travel trailer year round. So drinking clean, great tasting water is important to me. The TastePure Inline Water Filter does a great job of filtering the bacteria and impurities that can be found in many campsites water supply. During the winter months though, when temperatures reach 10-20 degrees, it is necessary to use that heater tape on your water supply to keep the water lines from freezing. I have found that the heater tape burns a hole thru the plastic water filter, so I recommend removing the water filter for the winter months or you will have to replace it more often than you might care to replace it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Filter, Good Price! We bought our first one of these filters at Shipps RV Park in Chattanooga. It was the first time we had seen it. This was in Summer of 2003. We have used this brand filter ever since. It removes any particles of rust, scale, sand etc. Water quality is very good. No odor or taste when drinking. One filter will last you about a year with 9 out of 12 months useage. It will stop allowing water flow when it is full and it's life is done. ALWAYS carry a spare to replace the one in use if it should shut down when you least expect it. Good item, good price. We will continue to use them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TastePURE KDF/Carbon Water Filter Have used this brand of filter for several years. Love the taste of the water when using this filter gets the well water and sulfur taste and smell out. Very happy with GPM flow and filtration out team it up with the 90 degree faucet so even getting water outside the trailer is good. Use several times a year up to a week or two at a time. I discard every Nov. when we winterize the trailer and replace our filter every spring, I purchase on sale.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some good, some bad. This is the first time we have used this filter. It cost less than the replacement cartridge for our other Camco Filter. We use another filter on the "drinking water faucet" after this one. We used to have to filter the water with a Brita after other filters. Now just the two filters is all we are using. Now the bad. The little hose is poorly made and came apart at one of the crimped ends, water all over the ground. I had to go into the Campground's RV supply and purchase a better one. Camco needs to upgrade.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job!!! I just used my water filter for the first time at Thousand Trails Pio Pico. They had huge problems with the water in the park after all the flooding from the rain in Jan..... I first hooked up the hose directly and sampled the water via a visual test. Water was brownish and had a slight odor. After connecting the filter the water was clear, no odor and it had very little affect as to the water pressure since I run it off of a 40psi water regulator. In short it worked well on my new Fleetwood PopUP!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Filter I have tried a couple of other RV water filters. The TastePure KDF/Carbon water filter is as good as the best I have tried, considerably better than most. The price has them all beat. We have been using them exclusively for about the past 7-8 years. I used the first one for two seasons, after the second season noticed a reduction in water flow, so I replaced the filter and realized it was suppose to be replaced each year. Hand tighten only and have never had a leak. Really does its job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product Keeps Water Smelling Fresh First time user of this product but I have to say it works very well. My goals are to keep all my tanks filtered and this little filter is relatively cheap and does the job, no smells from well water like some other campers I know experienced. Just remember to follow the instructions and run water through it before using it to kick out the filter sediment that is just laying in the filter, it will make a big difference when you finally connect it to your RV.

do you need a water pressure regulator when using this filter? Also what replacement filter should you get?

    Asked by: Dolly
The max psi this filter can handle is 50 psi, so yes a regulator is recommended.<p> Item# 18478 is a 'disposable' style filter, once the life of the filter is done it is thrown away since the filter and housing are a single piece.
