Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tie Down Boat Post I was very happy with the metal setup for the guide on and appreciated the ability to vary the pitch of the posts. I was disappointed with the fact that the inside metal post was so short and caused the PVC pipe to then be flimsy. I was torn with welding an extended piece to the inside but instead tried reinforcing with a 1.5" PVC schedule 40 followed by a 1" PVC schedule 80. This seemed to make a big difference. I also used all-thread to run the entire length and hold it all together. The top caps had popped off in the box and I was scared to just re-glue them with fear that they would just pop off again. The all-thread was great at holding it all together but did require that I drill a hole in the main brace to allow clearance during setup. Once all together the guide-ons worked well. Maybe I was getting carried away with strength of structure but the added rigidity gave me much more piece of mind.
