Rotating bike cradles fit a wide variety of bike styles. RVs generate exponentially more stress on bike racks than do cars and trucks. These Swagman Bike Racks are built and tested for use on the rear of RVs. Universal receiver bar fits a 2"
hitch. Built-in anti-wobble device stops rattles and vibration. Arms fold down when not carrying bikes.
I purchased this rack mainly because of the price. That being about the cheapest I have seen for a four-bike rack. My first impres...sion was this is a bit heavy but appears to be very well built. I have used it and have found it to do the job quite well. It holds them securely and I like the fact it all folds up nicely for storage as well. I am very pleased with my purchase and recommend this to anyone needing a four-bike rack.
Really good bike rack. So far so good. I like the ease of being able to lower whole unit to access my truck bed and the fact that ...the vertical part folds down for travel
without bikes on it. It seems really sturdy and strong with minimal wobbling. Well worth it!
This bike rack is very heavily built and very well thought out with its anti-rattle hitch pin
and adjustable bike holders. Only ...down fall, as with all the bike racks I've seen, if you
plan on carrying womens bikes properly, you need to purchase a bike adapter bar. I
would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a well built bike rack.
This is my third hitch-mount bike rack and the first that has very little sway and
movement. It is solidly built and holds the b...ikes securely. I had to really push on the bar
to get the pin through the arm hole, but otherwise, have had no problems setting it up and
mounting the bikes. Great value!
Had our first one for 4 years on the back of our camper. After driving across country and Alaska and back, we got hit in the rear ...bending the rack. The County will buy a new one for us and repair camper so we will be replacing it with the same brand. The only complaint would be the straps. After about 1 1/2 years, they began to break at the holes. We now have to use Bungees and rope. I've seen other brands that use Nylon straps.
I own a Thule and had some other various cheap racks
previously for use on my suv. They always shake, rattle,
Wasn'...t sure what made the Trailhead built for RV use. But
after you get it, you will see. It's not overly heavy IMO.
The threaded hitch pin is key for this unit. It holds
everything still and in place. Loaded it up with 4 adult
bikes and heading out for a 200mile trip. I could see it in
the rear camera the entire time. The bikes DO NOT move.
I'd recommend this over my Thule for RV use anyday.
The rack was easy to install and bikes were easy to load. I believe this rack needs to be re advertised as a "lightweight&quo...t; bike rack. While installing I noticed that the weight limit on the rack stated 100lb. limit. Where do you find 4 bikes weighing less than 100lbs? Must be those fold type bikes from Camping World. I loaded 4 cruiser type bikes on the rack and headed down to Florida from NC. On my first stop for fuel and food I checked the rack. I noticed the rack was leaning to one side. I was 40 miles from Palmetto, FL and a motorist flagged me down and made a motion like a bicycle. I pulled over and checked the bike rack. 2 of the bikes had walked to the end of the rack and one of the arms was bent real bad. I had to take 2 bikes off and put them in the underbelly of the camper. This rack should be labeled lightweight bikes only. I'm sure eventually the bikes would have walked off of the rack if I had not took 2 off. Bike rack arm was bent due to weight and bouncing of bikes. Bike rack is now in a land fill in NC.
While adapters like you are requesting exist we unfortunately do not stock any. An alternative is to look for a retailer who has Swagman part#63380 which is the same style bike rack but fabricated for a 1-1/4" receiver instead of a 2" receiver.

How do I find replacement tie straps?

We purchased this rack from Camping World this Spring and now one of the straps has started to tear. The straps say to replace each year, but I can't find where to get this design anywhere. How do I find them? Thanks
