Additional Information
Protect your RV's plumbing system against high pressures and get better water flow with the Valterra Lead-Free Brass High-Flow Water Regulator.

This high-flow water regulator is factory-set to keep outlet pressure between 50 – 55 psi. And for better showers, it offers 15 – 20% more flow than standard regulators. It has a lead-free construction (as indicated by the easy-to-use Valterra orange gripper) and conforms to federal and state laws for drinking water fixtures. Fits all standard water hose and campground water risers (recommended for late model RVs).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Device tended to leak - but simple fix It does the job. However, the device seemed to not seal properly and leaked when attached to the faucet. There is a red gasket with a dome shaped filter screen. (you can see it in the picture). The regulator shipped to me has the domed screen facing up. This flexible screen tends to move and get caught between the gasket and faucet, causing an imperfect seal and resulting leak. Simply remove the gasket, flip it around, and reinstall so the domed filter screen is pointing down into the regulator. The screen can no longer get caught between the gasket and faucet. Problem solved. I'll take one star off for the manufacturer not orienting the gasket and screen the proper way.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hi flow water regulator I bought this to replace original regulator to have better shower pressure. Once installed on our Dyna Air 5th Wheel which is our home it seemed okay and we had a very good shower. But about five days later the leaks started. Then for about four days I had to deal with leaks at different connections in the unit, something that in five years I had never had. So to check the regulator I went and bought a pressure gauge and found the pressure was below regular and showed to be over 100 psi. So put old unit back on checked it showed 55 psi. What a mess this new regulator caused, so beware if you buy one. Get a gauge and check it before you let water enter your unit. I have contacted manufacture to see what they say.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Follow-up review; I STILL like it! In February of last year, I reviewed this product after using it for only a couple of weeks. I was impressed by the flow rate. Finally, we could use water from the kitchen sink and the bath lav at the same time! I bought two back then and was still using the first one when I left it somewhere and had to go to the second one. Surprisingly, after 16 months of use, the flow rate hadn't changed a bit. The new one performed exactly the same as the one I lost. I just ordered another new one for backup, but I expect the one I'm using to last another year or more. This is probably the longest lasting regulator I have found AND it doesn't feel like we're sacrificing anything in water pressure to live in an RV. This is definitely worth the money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better safe than sorry! My very first extended vacation, back in the day, started off with an 8 hour drive from NY to VA during a heat wave. We were towing a 20' travel trailer and pulled into the Kings Dominion CG. Quickly setting up, we then donned our bathing suits, longing to jump into the pool, which was no more than 100' in front of us. While enjoying the dip, we looked over to our trailer, and noticed a waterfall coming out of the camper door. LESSON LEARNED! The hard way! We blew our water line in the bathroom, due to the water pressure. After repairing the damage, we purchased the above item at the campground store. No more problem. I will never, never hook up to city water again without this regulator. It's a must, in my opinion. I would even give it six stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Regulator defect/replaced with better regulator I had written this product up because it did not regulate water pressure at 55 psi and caused leaks in my Dyna Air Fifth Wheel unit. This review is to say great things about the company that makes the unit. After telling them of my problem that included several leaks that took me a couple of days to fix they replaced it with a nicer unit. The report I wrote originally was correct, the unit was bad, but this is to let you know that the company stands behind their product. In today's world that is a great compliment. No matter how good a product is, they are at times defective. But what makes it great is the company that stands behind their product, which is great to have in the U.S. Many thanks to them for the replacement, it sure makes up for some of the problems I had with the leaks. Just wanted you to know my experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SUPER pressure We were having trouble with our old water regulator... it had seen us through 3 campers and now with our coach the pressure was so bad we had to take it off. Which is scary with the pressure at various campgrounds. This water regulator gives us super pressure and great protection from the high water pressures at the campgrounds! Love it! Also purchased the water regulator with the gauge, but have been so happy with this, we haven't even tried it! THANKS!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Increased flow volume I was impressed with the increase in the flow of water through the taps of my unit. The kitchen sink filled quickly saving time waiting for the water level to reach a level to do the dishes. The new design made it easier to attach the regulator to the water source because of the outer ribbed ring. When you have trouble with your hands, it is nice to have a larger area to grasp.

How to replace the aboved water regulator?

I have a 2009Puma 30ft camper, and the water pressure inside is very weak. I have cleaned all the screens in the faucets, helped but still very low water pressure. Thanks for your help. Kind regards
Asked by: Richard
SKU#49510 is an inline model regulator, it attaches directly to the city water source, and then your drinking water hose from the regulator to your city water inlet on the RV. If you are having a low pressure issue inside your RV when directly connected to city water, you may want to check the specs of your city water inlet. Some inlets have a built-in regulator set for 40 to 50 PSI or lower. The regulator usually cannot be changed on the inlet so the entire unit will have to be replaced with a model that has a higher pressure threshold like item#77385 or use an inlet with no regulator while using an inline model like #49510.

What year is the breaking point?

This can be used on a RV manufactured after 1987. Please check your owners manual for anything older than that to ensure it can handle the psi.
