XC Hitch or Bumper Mount Rack is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 64.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hitch works well This hitch assembled easily and works well. The only criticism I have is that the arm which attaches to the receiver hitch on my RV could be a tad longer (1/2 inch), because as mounted the inside bicycle handlebar makes contact with the back of the RV. We solved that by making a pad for the end of the handlebar. Another solution, which we did not use, would have been to attach the included bumper mount to the back bumper. If we had used the included bumper mount, it would have given us more mounting options for the bicycles, as well, so the problem is not with the rack, it is with the design of our RV. I would highly recommend this rack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Worth The Investment We purchased this rack specifically for the back of our travel trailer. We also purchased a 4 inch adapter but were able to return it as this rack came with the appropriate size attachment for our bumper. It took about 15 mins. to size it to our bikes and after that it was super simple to use. We were able to easily move it from the camper to our truck. It was great being able to drive down the road and not have the bikes bouncing up and down because they were hanging and strapped on. So much more secure. Wished we had bought this the first time around and saved the hundreds on the previous rack! Would definitely recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Bike Rack This bike rack is exactly what we were looking for. The other reviewers comments regarding the attaching bolts and nuts did give me a little concern when ordering. However, upon receipt I found absolutely no issues with the bolts or nuts. It may be due to the fact that they are 16mm in size and I just happened to have both deep set sockets and wrenches that are metric, and the item installed without any issues at all. I would have rated the rack at a 5 except that I feel the shaft that slides into the hitch could use about 1/2 to 1 more length for added clearance past my trailer spare. Great product, simple to use and low to the ground which eliminates trying to lift the bicycles over your shoulders or head.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best designed rack ever Holds two bikes securely with minimal effort. Most of the reviewers that did not give it 5 stars appeared to not think that the location of a rear spare tire or ladder may affect how good a fit it is without an extension. We have a recumbent and a girls bike. It took me longer than 15 minutes to set it up initially, because I experimented with every possible configuration (both bikes facing left or right or one each way) to make sure nothing bumped my ladder and to decide which hold down bracket should be on top. Now, it take 5 minutes to get the rack from the shed, mount on the back of my RV an load the 2 bikes. My recumbent is about two inches longer than this is designed for, but the hold down bar still holds it securely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Using this on an RV I did a lot of studying before I bought this bike rack. I am using it a little different then most. I have a class A rig and mounted the bumper mount on top of my regular hitch. I had to buy several things to make this work. I purchased shorter bolts and new lock nuts. I also purchased a hitch adapter to raise the hitch above my tow bar. I have invested about $100 above the bike rack but it is all worth it. I can now put my bikes on the back of the RV instead of the car and that will improve fuel mileage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from XC Hitch style bike rack All metal - which I expect to hold up much better than the metal and plastic rack I recently sent to recycle. I'm on a long trip and after about 2,200 miles the bikes were still firmly in position showing no damage even though we had traveld some bumpy roads (the rack is mounted at the back of a 30' fifth wheel trailer). The only improvement I'd like to see would make it easier to really lock the rack to the trailer and the bikes to the rack. I can do it, but it could be better. All in all, I'd buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely well built & sturdy I was shocked when I put together this bike rack at how well built, functional & sturdy not to mention the ease of assembly. We immediately set the wheel locking brackets & marveled at the ratcheting hold down padded bars. The only problem we noticed is that we had to loosen the handlebars of the bike closest to the trailer & turn them parallel to the frame as we have a picture window in the rear of the Jayco 32RDLS travel trailer &. Otherwise, the end piece of the handlebar was too close for comfort. An additional 4 to 6 inches extension would be absolute perfection. This is, however, a minor issue as we are delighted with the purchase & highly recommend it. If all products purchased from Camping World are this superior, we will make this site a go to for all camping purchases.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product This bike rack just could not be any easier to use. It is extremely easy to load the bikes on without any help. The mechanism to secure them is simple and can be done with one hand while just balancing the bike on the base. I've used this several times now on the back of my travel trailer and the bikes are very secure. They don't move around and the way this is designed it seems pretty much impossible for them to get scratched up while in transit. I am very happy with this purchase.

How does it attach to the back of a travel trailer?

I have a 30' wildwood heritage glen travel trailer 2016.
Asked by: Anonymous
This bike rack is either attached to a 2" receiver hitch already on the travel trailer, or the included adapter is mounted to a 4"/4.5" steel bumper to create a receiver for the bike rack to attach to. Installation instructions can be downloaded here.

is there an extension available

I need about 10 inches from hitch pin to get past my spare tire, do they make an extension that is longer and fits into the receiver?
Asked by: annonymous
At the moment we have SKU#55984 and SKU#26514. If a different extension is needed, you can find them at retailers that stock automotive towing components.

will this fit in reciever around my spare

Do I need an extension to put this in my receiver hitch and fit around my spare tire?
Asked by: Anonymous
It is recommended that the 'XC' bike rack dimension drawing be referred to verify clearance of the bike rack.

My 5er has a 1 1/4 " receiver, can I use a 1 1/4 to 2" adapter

Asked by: Jack V Denton, TX
Yes, an adapter can be used as long as the hitch receiver mounted your 5th wheel and adapter can handle the weight of the bike rack(41 lbs.) plus bikes(up to 35 lbs. per bike).

Can this be used with a bike bunk or is there a better mount to use for the bike bunk?

Asked by: Muaeum Man
For clearance, upright models like #17223 are better suited with the bike bunk(#72004).

Do they make one to fit 4 bikes?

Asked by: Chuck
In a bumper mount of the same configuration, no. Instead Swagman offers a 4 bike bumper mount that is more of a cargo rack system, MFG#80600. And a towing model like item# 25897.
